I hope that if I get another review that it will be a short form. My disability is listed as MIP and I was told to look for another review in 3 years. If I get that review in 3 years as I was told I will be 57, I am aware that social security rules are easier after 55.

I also wonder if social security considers your time on SSDI and how long you have been on SSDI and out of the workforce when they look at your case especially when you hit the age of 55...... any response is greatly appreciated!!

Re: What happens after Social Security finds you disabled

In my case the judge sent me a fully favorable decision but the SSA says that does not mean I will receive any benefits!I'm confused!!!!

Re: What happens after Social Security finds you disabled

I just signed a percentage agreement with my lawyer and have been waiting 2 1/2 yrs to get a hearing for my ssd how much longer till we go to court?

Re: What happens after Social Security finds you disabled

Look at the dates they are delayed on the S/S page.

Re: What happens after Social Security finds you disabled

And that's 2k single and 3k married etc...These people can't research as I did ? The difference has to do with the disability onset date (when the judge decided that the disability began, referred to as the "date of onset"). Just wait for the award letter in the mail etc...in about 60 days.

Re: What happens after Social Security finds you disabled

No the ALJ works for the S/S department, unless YOU appeal the decision, and if you do it goes before a panel and you may not like the outcome.

Re: What happens after Social Security finds you disabled

Just tell them the truth, they will have to reapply again for benefits, because they retracted their benefits in writing. The monthly benefits provided to disabled workers by the Social Security Administration are referred to as Title II benefits because these benefits fall under Title 2 of the Social Security Act, which is the section of the Act where disability benefits are specifically addressed.

Title II benefits are not needs based, so there are no income or asset restrictions in order to qualify for monthly payments under Title II of the Social Security Act. You must, however, suffer from a long-term or permanent disability that is expected to last at least 12 months in order to qualify for disability benefits. The condition must also prevent you from performing any type of gainful work activity. Those who apply for Title II benefits must also have enough work credits in order to be approved for Title II disability benefits. Work credits are earned each quarter that a taxpayer pays into the Social Security system. Just wait for the decision letter in the mail, after you appeared before the ALJ, it will take 60-90 days for the judges decision. Either it will say partially favorable, totally favorable or unfavorable decision / denied . Most of the time partially favorable means no back payments, or a closed period of disability means the Administrative Law Judge finds that you are disabled for only a certain period of time. You will be paid benefits for this period, but you will not receive any ongoing benefits. and there is a five month waiting period. You will have to wait for the decision in the mail. Good luck

Re: What happens after Social Security finds you disabled

Good thing. But after decided he wanted to go back and work. Today my husband is UN able to keep a job as he has gottne worse. We have applied again for SSDI. Knowing that SSDI has information about my Veteran WINNING his case back in 2012. Do we have a chance for SSDI to win again without getting another Lawyer?

Re: What happens after Social Security finds you disabled

Do your best to stay calm while waiting for the decision to arrive so Social Security can start processing your benefits.

Re: What happens after Social Security finds you disabled

That's a lot of questions.
