Thank you for reminding me to call the assigned ODAR office,just got off phone with METAIRIE office and the gentleman told me I was in,"READY TO SCHEDULE STATUS"...AND THAT IT SHOULDN'T BE MUCH LONGER..I FEEL BETTER ALREADY..(NO PUN INTENDED)..WELL,YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN..MORE AT EASE......THANKS AGAIN

The notice that told you that your file was transferred should also have a phone number you can call for that office. The new hearing office may be able to tell you when you might expect your hearing to be scheduled.

Yes,,at BISSONETT it was 17 months..but in the 18th month of waiting it was transferred to Metairie where the wait is now 11 months..

Thanks for the info..just getting impatient I guess..im on my 19 month of waiting since appeal..I KIND OF KNEW IT WOULD BE A LONG RIDE,,BUT AT LEAST I CAN SAY I FEEL I'M ALMOST AT THE FINISH LINE..

As noted in the post, "When Social Security moves a disability case out of its home state, or to a different Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR), they are trying to ease the caseload on an overburdened office. Cases that would otherwise be kept waiting, are moved to a less busy ODAR office."

My understanding is the Social Security tries to order cases by appeal date. So, if a case was appealed in April and is then moved to another office, it is kept together with other April appeals.

Does this mean my case will go to the bottom of the stack in another office..my all hearing was transferred from Houston (bissonett),Texas to Metairie,Louisianna
