But their medical issue is listed now as Moderate. But they cannot do their previous work due to their RFC as their previous job was heavy work,

Does that illness being " moderate" instead of severe make a difference? I ask because the RFC went from heavy to light and this person cannot do their previous work and they are 57.

Provided they have 12 th grade education and non transferable skills and now cannot do their previous work due to their illness would that person being 57 most likely be granted SSDI?

Re: How Social Security Looks At Different Kinds of Work

I was just informed that ssdi medical examiner reported that I was given "sedentary RFC with additional postural limitations that do not erode the occupational base to which the claimant could return".... what does this mean? My lawyer said I had a listing of 1.04 and 12.04 "less than sedentary work" and we filed and OTR over 5 months ago. We are still waiting on a hearing date and something on the OTR.

Re: How Social Security Looks At Different Kinds of Work

In my opinion, yes.

Re: How Social Security Looks At Different Kinds of Work

My vocational expert stated I can do 3 different sedentary jobs. Each were 5000 available nationwide adn and 250 in my state. Is this a significant number?

Re: How Social Security Looks At Different Kinds of Work

"Sedentary-Light" is a term one hears bandied around at hearings. For past work, SSA will get an opinion of the exertional classification from a vocational expert.

Re: How Social Security Looks At Different Kinds of Work

Where does SS classify jobs that are 50/50 sitting and standing or walking. 4 hours sitting, 4 hours standing or walking required?
